A native of New England, I have used my artistic eye and love of history to bring together an interesting collection of photographs. For eight years I worked for National Amusements in their advertising department as a graphic designer. By working with clients like MTV, Simon & Schuster, VH1, Showcase Cinemas and the New England Patriots my experience there was not a wasted one. In 2004 I decided to quit the corporate life and join forces with a friend to open The Canvas Alley Gallery in Reading, MA. After a year the doors to the gallery had closed but I continue on my journey. In addition to my photography I currently works as a Marketing & Business Manager for Cardinal Cushing Centers (a non-profit organization that supports individuals of all ages and abilities with developmental disabilities and on the autism spectrum). My freelance graphic design work includes clients like Arc of Massachusetts, Bridgewell, Combined Jewish Philanthropies, Eyeglass Sleeve Protectors, General Goods and Burton School of Music.
I experiment in several mediums including sculpture using organic materials, mixed media with fabric, sewing, fashion illustration, photography and her latest passion jewelry design. My interest for photography started when I was twelve with my brother Todd, a then Photo Journalist, would take me on his assignments. He taught me the concept of being a bee and how important it was to shoot your subject from numerous angles, like a bee flies around a flower. I was always interested in historical places and later became fascinated by photographing them. The basis of my photographs are that of historical significance and unique perspectives. Whether it is stepping on the campus where Bogart was expelled to where the Pilgrims first stepped upon America have attracted me. I was raised with the idea that it's not what you do, it's how you do it. With that embedded in my brain I have always fought to be different. I try to find the unique in the world and photograph it while learning its historical significance. I want to learn about where America's first millionaire bought a house as well as where Thoreau wrote Walden. My photography allows for continuity in both imagery and history.
